Lun's Story

Lunar'a Vara was born as a Moonseeker Miqo'te to a tribe in the South Shroud. His parents, Jaxt'un and Lunar Vara were the leaders of their tribe until Lun's 5th birthday when his whole family and tribe were killed in a fatal accident... at least that's what Lun believes. After his tribes passing, he wandered alone staying away from others due to fear that the same thing will happen to them. He spent several years in the Black Shroud's forests, scraping by until he made his way into Thanalan.By age 9, he snuck onto a ship bound for the Far East where he nearly got caught by the ships captain, but a wandering shinobi helped him off the ship. Lun was... unhappy with the shinobi. He believed he didn't need anyone's help and he could do things on his own. The shinobi never gave up trying to help Lun. He got Lun food and water, tried his best to give him shelter. Until finally... Lun gave in and accepted the fact he needed the help. So, the shinobi took Lun under his wing and Lun finally thought to ask him his name, which the shinobi said Soren.By age 15, Lun was a full fledged shinobi himself. He trained every day with Soren, learned to master the way of the ninja and blend with the shadows.By 18, he found his first love... Zanrei, a Raen and fellow shinobi. He also met his bestfriend, Byre.By 21, he... made a mistake. He was walking through the streets of Kugane where he spied a bottle on the ground... He was rather thirsty... and the bottle still seemed sealed, unopened, and untampered with. So, he opened it up took a nice long swig and enjoyed the taste. He drank until it was empty. He felt fine for a while... and then he didn't, he got a massive headache and he felt off balance. He went to the Bokairo Inn to sleep it off and when he woke up he felt... different. Taller. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and his hands brushed against something tough and long on the sides of his head... he tried to move his ears but they wouldn't... he started to panic so he found a nearby mirror in the Inn room and was shocked to find that he was now an Au'ra... a Xaela at that... he has a LOT of explaining to do.By 23, another tragedy struck... Zanrei, Soren, and Lun were on a mission to stop the Red Kojin from stealing sacred artifacts. But in the process, a Primal was summoned... Susano. They fought him with all they could but all Susano did was let out his boisterous laugh and sent a wave of energy towards them and the next thing Lun knew... both his mentor and boyfriend were at his throat... fighting him. Lun was confused... scared... he didn't want to hurt them... but they gave him no choice! He... he had to. He had to stop them. With a quick block and a stab to each of their hearts... they were dead... He cried with both of them in his arms and heard Susano's laugh again... he turned towards the Primal with a fire in his eyes, laying his loved ones bodies down carefully and ran towards him, dodging everything Susano threw at him. His sword sliced, lightning struck, and the ocean collided... but nothing hit him. Lun jumped up towards the towering Primal and landed the killing blow in a spot between Susano's armor. The Primal dissipated and Lun fell to his knees with grief. Body shaking as his tears streamed down his face... a never-ending river. After hours of crying, he got up and lifted his loved ones bodies one by one and buried them. After that, he left his life in the Far East, abandoning his position as a shinobi, and boarding a ship back to Eorzea.By 24, he's made a name for himself in the three cities, taking odd jobs and the like. He even took up the mantle of Scholar, helping heal the many injured after the Calamity.By 25, he was about to be sent off to further his studies in Sharlayan. But, as he was heading off to board the ship... he spotted a dance troupe in the plaza of Limsa Lominsa. He's never seen moves that graceful! He becomes mesmerized by them and watches their act for hours... He forgets all about the ship he was supposed to board and asks them if he could learn from them... to become a Dancer.By 27, he still practices the art of being a Scholar, but most of his focus is on dancing now. He travels to various places with the troupe, performing to all sorts of cultures and people. He's overjoyed with his new life and when he's not traveling, he spends his time at clubs and working as an escort for some.By 28, he hears the voice of Hydaelyn clearly for the first time.Hear.
